Stars Problem Solved !
The Griffin iMic solves the problem of not having an additional sound card or the slot to put one (ie laptop, iMac). The product works perfectly. I use this product in conjuction with the MegaSeg DJ program and it solved my problem. The people at Griffin Technology have several products that just fit the nitch and make the day go a little better.

Stars Poor Quality; Bad Price
I use an iBook G4 running on Mac OS X Tiger. Since Apple has made the odd decision to not include microphone ports on the iBook, I decided to go with the iMic, which I was a bit unsure about as it seemed very overpriced. My assumption proved correct, especially considering the astoundingly awful quality of this product. As a headphone device it works fine, but I can discern no difference between it and the built-in audio out port on the iBook. So the real test for this iMic came when I decided to record some audio using the open source program Audacity. Although it took some time for the device to work properly with Audacity, I managed to successfully record what I needed, and when I began the playback, I was disgusted at the quality. There was much fizz and static in the recorded audio, and I got much better results using my Windows computer's built-in microphone port. This lack of microphone port may be the only downside to using a Mac (an iBook, that is, as most other Macs have mic ports). Frankly, I feel ripped off, and I don't intend on buying any products from Griffin in the future.

Stars works well
haven't had any problems. there are a few things i do not like about it, mostly in the editing tools, but i can't complain.
