Not blown away, but I can't complain.

First I will state, I have not encountered the problems people are reporting. My unit is fully functional after every day use (1-3 movies a day for the past 8 months). In addition to its everyday use I sometimes forget to turn it off or eject the disc almost every day, so it has sustained almost 24hr operation without flaw.

The video quality is excellent, I bought this player to go along with my 36" WEGA, sound is great, can't complain about quality, however, I haven't another player capable of comparison. I have used low end players, and they where pretty bad. I had bad experiences with the $100 range players as well.

I beleive this player is very expensive ($300 at the time of purchase) and as such I don't feel it is as "fast" as I would like. The response time to eject a disc is about 5 seconds. Also the player seems to suspend itself, in a "sleep" mode, so sometimes two eject attemps are nessisary. Perhaps this is what people are encountering when they are refering to the tray being stuck? I have never had to unlplug the unit or anything like that to eject the disc.

Considering the cost of the player, I do not beleive the interface to be very well constructed (on screen). It sort of reminds me of a cheap VCR interface. My 36" WEGA on the other hand has a nice GUI-like rendered interface. Looks, and feels expensive.

I do recommend this player to anyone interested in it, but I cannot recommend it above any other player.

Great DVD Player...Huge Difference!!!

I was pretty hesitant to buy this pretty much because of all of the negative reviews of the product. Anway, I finally did, and it was worked very well for me for the last two or three months. I've found that lots of the people that review products do so because it didn't work or failed them, so I hope this can persuade others to look at the other side of the story. Good luck.
